We created a winter experience that was full S.T.E.A.M. ahead, where guests explored spectacular model trains circulating through a bustling city, a charming snow-covered valley, and a glowing aurora night! The can't-miss centerpiece of Franklin Frost was the grand 25-foot-tall sparkling Stellar Tree, designed to reflect the mysterious and magnificent night sky.

We were intentional to deliver an inclusive seasonal event that was not tied to any specific holiday celebration. Leveraging the museum’s themes, including the existing significant train presence, we built an ownable seasonal event that paid homage to industry, science, astrology, and the city of Philadelphia.

We created an immersive holiday experience throughout the museum, which invited guests to explore the Franklin Institute. Special areas included:

25-Foot-Tall Stellar Tree: Gaze up at the massively majestic Stellar Tree sparkling with stars as only The Franklin Institute could imagine. Watch Philadelphia streetcar trains and other model trains loop around this spectacular tree.
Celestial Village and Big Chill Valley Model Train Displays: A train lover’s delight! As you enter Celestial Village and Big Chill Valley, you’ll explore a collection of hand-painted model trains in action. Watch as trolleys, passenger, and industrial trains navigate the many elevated tracks, loops, and tunnels against a scenic backdrop of flocked trees, twinkling lights, and whistling sounds that fill Pepper Hall.
ALL ABOARD! Meet Conductor Carl: Your guide through a journey of scientific wonder and discovery this holiday season, uniformed Conductor Carl will lead interactive seasonal science activities with a sprinkle of surprise!
